Jess Kamens Photography will capture your child’s true personality through play and other creative techniques. The backgrounds are different and each expression is different from one another.
The quality of image matches that of a high-quality portrait.
These school pictures will be forever treasured!
Spaces are limited. First come, first serve!
Offered in various sizes and products.
School (bulk) photography allows Jess Kamens Photography to provide you with quality portraits of amazing images for a price that will make them available to most. Collections begin at $54 and include prints and the session fee both combined in one. This is an amazing investment given the quality of portraits and service offered to create unique images of your little ones. Full collections and pricing information will be sent right to your email (on the order form).
This pricing is available for large-volume school photography only. The homeschooling community is very important to me (we are one of you!) and I am happy to provide this option to you.
WHERE WILL THE SESSION BE HELD?
Outside at a park (TBD). Candid/playing and playfully posed images.
HOW DO I SCHEDULE?
When you register and schedule your session, you will be asked for your day and time preferences. Once you are scheduled for your session, you will receive an email with the date and time! (Date and time requests are not guaranteed). If you are bringing more than one child, your appointment will be the same for all children.
WHAT AGE CHILDREN WILL YOU CREATE PORTRAITS FOR?
Homeschool children preschool (3) through Juniors(16/17). If you have a senior, please contact me separately for this.
WHAT IF I WANT TO SCHEDULE MORE THAN ONE HOMESCHOOL CHILD?
When scheduling, you will be able to select how many children you would like photographed. There is a space that will allow for you to let me know how many children you are scheduling for. You only receive one time slot for all of your children.
WHEN TO ARRIVE?
Please arrive to your session 5-10 minutes PRIOR to your scheduled time and please be ready to go at your start time. We have made some scheduling adjustments this year to minimize wait times. You will be the only one scheduled for your time.
WHO SELECTS MY IMAGES?
The studio chooses which portrait is best for your child. If you would like to select your own image, you may choose to request an Image Selection and Ordering Meeting (via Zoom) on your order form and we will meet for a few minutes to view and select your image(s). You will be presented with 2-4 images and can select which one(s) you like.
HOW DO I ORDER IMAGES?
Preorder is required. If you have selected to have an image selection and ordering Zoom meeting, you may increase your order at this time. I do not offer online galleries.
ARE MY PRINTS DELIVERED?
Your prints will be delivered to your home via post.
HOW CAN I PREPARE MY CHILD?
Talk talk talk talk! Put it on the calendar. Get excited. Have a nice bath the night before, choose and lay out clothes and encourage them participate. Show them some portraits HERE. Show them what a goof I am and some pictures of me on the ABOUT page. Please prepare them that I will be wearing a mask and I will also have my assistant there. The more calm you are about the situation, the more relaxed they will be. Please try, for little kids, not prep to them about “behaving, acting proper, etc.”. I practice gentle parenting and teaching and I have a really gentle/fun way with kiddos. No need to put pressure on them. If, in the moment, a child is feeling not safe, we will wait and work with them to help them be comfortable. This should be a really special, fun experience for them.
DURING THE SESSION
I will be taking pictures of them while they are playing and will work with each child, individually. Parents can be nearby, but it is best if you are not in the immediate area where I am shooting (this causes children to get easily confused).
CLOTHES? WHAT TO WEAR?
Please use your most convincing tactics to steer your kiddo away from neon/bright colors, logos, characters and all patterns. Feel free to blame it on me! Plain clothes are really best. I’m focusing on their sweet eyes, faces and expressions and we want to try not to distract from that! Dress appropriately of course! I might ask kids take off their jackets/hats for a minute or two, if they are wearing them. If you are unsure, please feel free to lay the clothes out or try them on your clothes and send me a picture via email.
PROPS & COSTUMES?
Please refrain from bringing props, “friends”, blankies, costumes, etc. Stuffy friends can stay nearby me if they would like them for security. I focus on the children’s face and these items can be a distraction.
Please avoid sunscreen and lotions first thing in the morning.
Rain dates will be the following week on the same day and time. I will not make a rain cancellation decision until the last minute (unless it is definitive).
Are you in a pod this year? This could be a wonderful addition to add for each other and a fantastic way capture the special moments throughout your child’s school year.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD IS SICK?
If you child misses their photo session, please contact me right away. I will do my best to squeeze you in at a different time. Please follow the studio’s Covid-19 policies.
HOW WILL THE SESSION BE DUE TO COVID-19?
Each family maintains different protocol while protecting their precious ones during this time. Businesses are under a microscope ensuring that we abide by NYS mandates and recommendations. Given these uncertain circumstances and in order to respect one another’s choices, we ask that you kindly review the studio’s policies, All photography will happen from a distance (as it always does anyway!). You will be assigned a specific time for your session and ask that people wait by their cars (or designated area – this will be defined) and not convene and play with other children and adults during the session times. Feel free to make plans to play and meet up after your portraits are complete! I thank you for understanding and respecting all families and businesses who are navigating these unusual times.
WHAT IS A ‘SOCIAL MEDIA FILE‘?
It is a watermarked version of your chosen image that you may share with friends and family, carry on your phone, have on your computer, etc. This does not come with a print release. Digital negatives (printable files) are available, should you wish to invest.
CAN WE BRING SIBLINGS TO THE SESSIONS?
All homeschool children that will be photographed must be registered. Additional portraits will not be taken in the moment. Siblings may not be combined in photographs. I WISH that I could take pictures of all siblings and babies and all the cuteness, but unfortunately, that can’t happen at the moment!
MAY I SEE THE IMAGES, EVEN IF I AM NOT ORDERING?
JKP does not use online galleries. The only way to view the images is to purchase a collection of prints or schedule an ordering meeting.
HOW DOES A LA CARTE WORK?
The a la carte menu is there so that you may add on additional prints to your package from one image. If you wish to have a second image, the collection must be purchased first (or you may invest in Collection C, which contains 2 images). You must order a collection prior to ordering from the a la carte.
CAN I SEE SAMPLES OF THE ARTWORK?
On the day of the sessions and the ordering meetings, I will have artwork for you to see and touch!
WHAT IF WANT A LARGER PRINT THAN 8×10?
Any investment larger than 8×10 is not available through the school system. However, through my portrait business, I offer heirloom artwork up to ANY size (yes!), should you wish.
